With over 300 professional, technical and engineering employees based in 9 offices across Australia and New Zealand, we are now seeking for a talented and self-driven Senior Environmental Consultant with expertise in contaminated land assessments, based in our head office in Kew East, Victoria.

About the Role:

Due to recent internal promotion, this role has become vacant and is responsible for the project management of works including soil, groundwater, surface water, soil vapour and remediation, as well as key client management within the business.

Key responsibilities:

Reporting to the Team Manager and supported by a team of high performing experts your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Utilising your technical background to deliver high quality work in contaminated land assessment.
  • Compilation of technical reports and presenting findings to clients.
  • Monitoring assigned projects to ensure they meet defined project objectives (i.e. meet client and regulatory needs, timeframes, budget etc.)
  • Regularly communicate with external stakeholders such as clients and subcontractors, present technical information and canvas stakeholder feedback in a constructive and informative way.
  • Resolve complex inquiries and provide technical advice to internal and external clients.
  • Working closely with the Principal Consultants and Senior Management.
  • Key account management and contributing to the region’s pipeline by identifying, creating and converting opportunities through proactive client relationship management.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or Geology, Hydrogeology or engineering.
  • Certified Environmental Practitioner/Contaminated Land Specialist will be well regarded.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in Environmental Consulting and field work specialising in contaminated land assessments.
  • A proven background in projects dealing with waste/contaminated land/related environmental fields.
  • A strong knowledge of field sampling techniques and the environmental regulatory framework would be highly regarded.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands will be highly regarded.
  • Competency in GIS, ESDAT and Winlog software is desirable.
