Communities of Practice are Institute-wide groups that bring together members with a shared area of interest, often with a tighter area of focus than a Special Interest Section. These groups are open to all practitioners and work towards improving environmental practice through information sharing, the development of guidance documents, seminars, workshops, and other activities.
Communities of Practice generally focus on emerging opportunities or issues that require a dedicated focus over a period of time rather than ongoing committee business.

We acknowledge and value the rights and interests of Indigenous Peoples in the protection and management of environmental values through their involvement in decisions and processes, and the application of traditional Indigenous knowledge.
