The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo NSW) is seeking two Managers, Planning & Policy to join the Planning & Communities team to drive strategic planning and community outcomes that support the delivery of Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Program in NSW.
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the delivery of NSW’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, one of Australia’s most significant energy reforms that will transform NSW’s electricity system over the next two decades.
The Roadmap is the policy framework that will deliver five REZs in the Central-West Orana, New England, South-West, Hunter-Central Coast and Illawarra regions of NSW and is expected to attract $32 billion in private investment in regional energy infrastructure by 2030 and drive 6,300 construction jobs and 2,800 ongoing jobs in 2030, mostly in regional NSW.
EnergyCo NSW is responsible for planning the geographic location of REZs and coordinating where generation, storage and transmission network infrastructure will be built. The Planning & Communities team is responsible for leading upfront strategic planning, community and stakeholder engagement and benefit-sharing to ensure REZs are delivered in ways that work for local communities.
About the Role:
As the Manager Planning & Policy, you will be responsible for leading a team to drive strategic policy initiatives and programs that support the delivery of REZs in NSW.
You will be part of a high performing team in a new organisation where there are significant opportunities to think outside of the box and deliver initiatives that make a genuine impact for communities in NSW.
You will also be a key contributor to the culture, direction, priority setting and staff engagement of the Planning & Communities team and broader Energy Corporation of NSW organisation.
About You:
You are an experienced project manager and planning/policy professional who is passionate about community and strategic planning outcomes and are keen to be on the ground with us implementing this once in a generation energy market reform.
