Virtus Heritage has generously made this resource available to all EIANZ members. The form has also gone through a further review process with the community and includes additional edits made through that process.
This is the kind of practical resource that can make a real difference in how consultation is planned, documented and carried out. Rather than treating consent as a one-off administrative step, the form encourages practitioners to think carefully about cultural authority, confidentiality, restricted information, appropriate use of knowledge, fair recognition of time and the right of Traditional Custodians to change or limit consent during the process.
We acknowledge and value the rights and interests of Indigenous Peoples in the protection and management of environmental values through their involvement in decisions and processes, and the application of traditional Indigenous knowledge.
