We're seeking a highly motivated State Manager to lead our WA team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a passionate, high-performing group that values teamwork, technical excellence, and strong, trusted relationships with clients. Our team delivers high-quality scientific work across a wide array of projects, including ecology, renewables, environmental impact assessments (EIS), conservation, and natural resource management (NRM). We work closely with long-standing clients in the local, state, and federal governments, as well as the energy and resources sectors.

As State Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in guiding and growing our operations in WA to achieve commercial success, growth targets, and uphold our company's core values. You'll work collaboratively with ELA's leadership team, where teamwork and shared achievements are deeply valued.

About you

You’ll be a high energy, natural leader who genuinely cares about your team, thrives in a collaborative environment, and enjoys solving problems that make a real difference. We’re looking for someone who has:

• Proven leadership, business development and project delivery skills, ideally gained in a consultancy setting, with the ability to inspire and guide teams while managing complex projects.
• Tertiary qualifications and experience aligned with ELA’s core services—such as ecology, environmental planning and approvals or groundwater (other relevant disciplines will also be considered).
• Experience collaborating with clients in the natural resource management (NRM), mining or renewable energy sectors—highly regarded.
• A natural inclination toward kind, positive leadership, with a focus on nurturing a cohesive and growing team.
• A genuine interest in mentoring and supporting others in both their personal growth and professional development.
• Strong networks and enduring client relationships in West Australia—or a clear commitment to building and growing them.
• A solid track record in securing work and delivering high-quality project outcomes that meet or exceed expectations.
