Great career opportunity to support Tetra Tech Coffey’s Site Assessment and Remediation team to deliver on a strong pipeline of site investigation projects across multiple industries. You will have the flexibility of being based either in our central Southbank office or our regional Geelong office.


About the role  

Becoming part of our specialist Site Assessment and Remediation (SAR) group means you’ll work with a highly skilled team of subject matter experts and specialists including environmental scientists and engineers, geologists, hydrogeologists, chemists, landfill design, waste management specialists and contaminated site auditors across Victoria.

You’ll work on a variety of large and challenging investigation and remediation projects for our clients in the Defence, infrastructure, mining and resources, property and oil and gas sectors.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Planning, directing and delivering highly technical and complex contaminated land projects
  • Providing technical leadership, mentoring & support to the team working on contaminated site investigations
  • Managing and developing key client relationships and working with the Practice Leader to identify and secure new growth opportunities, deliver winning proposals and build market profile within core Defence, Mining, Infrastructure and Property sectors
  • Managing and preparing technical content in reports, proposals and correspondence
  • Engaging with a range of Victorian government departments and regulators
  • Collaborating with our contaminated land project managers and specialists across Australia to pursue and deliver major projects


About you

For success in this critical role, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in fields such as Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology and/or Hydrogeology and 6+ years’ experience delivering contaminated land projects, preferably within Victoria
  • Track record in delivering contaminated land projects
  • A thorough and demonstrable understanding of Victorian legislation and Standards and guidelines for contaminated land
  • Exceptional communication, report writing and client relationship management skills
  • The ability to coach and provide technical guidance for junior staff
  • Experience in ensuring projects are delivered safely and without risks to health or the environment
  • An existing client network as well as relationships with government departments and regulators will be highly regarded
  • Experience with closed landfill sites and landfill gas is also desirable
