Senior Social Performance Consultant - Perth, Australia
ERM is seeking motivated Senior Consultants to join our Social Performance team in Perth. You will be a senior member of a successful technical team responsible for consulting on Social Performance, Social Planning, and Social Impact matters in Australia and internationally.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Social Performance / Social Planning / Social Impact professional to take their career to the next level with a global leader in sustainability, and to make a significant impact in successfully implementing ERM's global strategy.
Ideal candidates will bring prior consulting experience in the oil and gas, mining, and/or renewables (wind/solar) sector, in order to provide technical understanding and strategic direction to the team, whilst also helping to mentor the more junior team members to develop their skillsets.
An interest in applying existing knowledge and expertise to solve complex challenges is critical, as is the desire to network with ERM's global Social Performance Technical Community to share best practices across the industry.
Responsibilities:
Provide oversight and quality control for data collection, management, reduction and analysis.
Collaborate with other ERM national and global practitioners via working in teams composed of multi-disciplinary professionals from multiple offices around the global ERM organisation.
Liaise with various stakeholders, including State/Local Governments and community groups.
Mentor junior-level consulting staff to develop their skill sets including technical skills, project experience, and general consulting and decision-making skills.
Contribute to proposal development, including development of technical scopes and cost estimates in accordance with ERM’s policies and processes.
When required, direct and monitor project management activities related to projects, including task delegation and direction, subcontractor management, health & safety protocol management, monitoring of commercial performance, quality review of deliverables, and interaction with clients.
Work with other global ERM resources to deepen relationships with ERM key clients to expand ERM’s profile and market share in the global market (through a combination of excellence in technical delivery and business development support).
Requirements:
A recognised Bachelor degree in social science, social or town planning, environmental management, or other related discipline; professional registration would be an asset.
5-10+ years demonstrable experience, with experience in the consulting industry preferred.
Experience working as part of an integrated national team to develop social impact assessments, human rights impact assessment, labour audits, or other related scopes of work for projects in Australia and further afield.
Project management skills (e.g., development of work plans, budgets, schedules, and project controls).
Excellent writing, communication, strategic thinking, and attention to detail.
Relationship building skills with colleagues and clients, i.e., people skills, contributing to our company culture.
