Senior Environmental Consultant - Approvals (Perth WA)
ERM is seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant to join our team in Perth to support our services to the mining and future energy sector (hydrogen, ammonia and renewables).
ERM is rapidly growing in capability and capacity to help our mining and future energy sector clients face the growing challenges of developing and operating sustainable projects. As such, you will be part of a highly successful team responsible for driving key renewable energy projects forward through consulting on environmental approvals to support our sustainable business locally, while networking with ERM's global teams to share best practices across the industries.

Responsibilities:
Lead and/or support a wide variety of mining projects or future energy projects related to capital project development, environmental approvals / permitting, mine closure planning / decommissioning as well as the development of associated management plans.
Collaborate with other ERM national and global practitioners to execute projects. Participate on teams composed of multi-disciplinary professionals from multiple offices around the global ERM organisation.
Develop their skills including technical skills, project experience, and general consulting and decision-making skills.
Contribute to proposal development, including development of technical scopes and cost estimates in accordance with ERM’s policies and processes.
When required, direct and monitor project management activities related to projects, including task delegation and direction, subcontractor management, health & safety protocol management, monitoring of commercial performance, quality review of deliverables, and interaction with clients.
Work with other global ERM resources to deepen relationships with ERM key clients to expand ERM’s profile and market share in the global Mining as well as future energies' markets (through a combination of excellence in technical delivery and business development support).
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in environmental science, or related discipline.
5+ years of relevant mining and/or energy industry experience including terrestrial based environmental approvals/ permitting and/or management. Consulting industry experience highly desirable.
Experience working with the Environmental Protection Act 1986 and/or Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and/or the Mining Act 1978.
Experience leading the environmental approval and permitting process for major capital projects (i.e., new mines or expansions, hydrogen and renewable energy developments).
Knowledge of capital project management and experience working as part of an integrated team.
Experience conducting third party reviews against capital project planning, industry best practice, regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
