About the Opportunity
Be part of a transformative infrastructure project for Victoria, with an exciting new role in the North East Link Program's Delivery Freeways!
As our Senior Environment Specialist, you will be embedded into the East Delivery Package, working alongside the Land Planning and Environment team as part of a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Reporting to the Package Director, you will play a vital role in the completion of project approvals, preparation of contract documents and in the compliance of delivery packages and approval conditions. The Senior Environment Specialist is responsible for supporting senior management with high quality advice, reports, and communication around key issues throughout the project lifecycle. This role also ensures that technical specialists are managed so that key objectives are being met efficiently and to a high standard, while maintaining a motivated and collaborative work environment.
This position will lead a small team of technical specialists, in a team that provides advice on primary project approvals, achieves secondary consents, and sets the environmental and planning requirements in the procurement of NELP's secondary packages. The East Package is in the early stages of development and are currently going through the procurement process, getting ready for EOI
Travel and time spent at a future site office (Bulleen, Heidelberg or Watsonia) may be requirement of this position.
About You
This position requires a passionate, customer focused environment specialist with exposure to Government legislation, processes and practices. In addition to this, you are:
An exceptional communicator who thrives in a collaborative team environment, demonstrating technical expertise in directing and influencing consultants, disciplinary teams and contractors to achieve project objectives.
Passionate about all aspects of the environment and driven to implement change, collaborate and challenge the status quo to deliver project objectives for successful outcomes.
Knowledgeable and experienced in the delivery of technical advice on complex environmental matters within a major infrastructure or construction project environment.
Qualifications
A relevant tertiary qualification and experience in environmental science, environmental management or a similar discipline is mandatory.
