At 4Sight - Part of SLR, we embrace sustainable and environmental excellence and leadership in our wide-ranging projects and are committed to finding the best people in the industry to help guide the company into the future. We are a growing company, and we’re now seeking a Senior or Intermediate Ecologist to come and join our Dunedin team. We work with a variety of clients and projects so if you’re looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary consultancy where no two days are the same this opportunity could be for you!
Working alongside our experienced Ecologists in Dunedin, as the successful candidate, you will be assisting us in maintaining and supporting 4Sight’s vision for the Ecology team and our market reach, by providing exceptional client and project management services to our growing client base. This could involve scoping projects and associated costs, developing business and client relationships, undertaking fieldwork, collecting samples, analysis of data, and detailed report writing.
To complement the experience, we already have in 4Sight, you will be an energetic and talented individual who knows what it takes to be successful in a consulting environment. You will be able to competently deal with dynamic clients, regulatory authorities, iwi/hapū, local community members and a wide range of experts in your specialist area in order to deliver sustainable outcomes for a variety of projects for our public and private clients.
You will need to be able to work autonomously with limited direction and supervision, sometimes working in remote locations. You will also be comfortable contributing to the wider Ecology team and working with them collaboratively on projects in other locations and regions. You will have a passion for New Zealand’s wildlife and a sound knowledge of ecological management with relevant field experience across a range of ecosystems, habitats and taxa.
Our promise is to always be upfront, easy to deal with and to take a long-term view. It’s an approach that has fostered lasting relationships with our clients and fuelled our ongoing growth. It’s why we believe that we can offer the ideal environment for both clients and our people alike. If you think we can thrive together, apply to us now!

We can’t wait to hear from you and good luck!
