Note: We are ideally looking for a Project Manager to be based in Townsville. May consider other locations across the Eastern seaboard in travel distance to an NGH office for the Project Officer position. The role:

The project management team wear multiple hats, they’re seen as true advisors and thought partners of the business. Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will provide integral support to your area of expertise that may include EIA, EM, biodiversity and/or heritage. NGH Project Officers striving to continually improve NGH projects including NGH customer service, data and report quality, productivity and efficiency and profitability. At NGH we encourage professional development and internal movement. This position could be the start of successful career in Project Management or bridging role at NGH.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the PMO to ensure projects are planned and executed in line with NGH principles, procedures and project management best practice
  • Deliver excellent customer service and consistently exceed client expectations through proactive project management
  • Coordinate project resourcing and reduce resourcing conflicts and double handling
  • Undertake project management training and develop excellent project management skills to grow into an autonomous project manager.
  • Set up and administer projects in our project management systems including subcontractor management, resourcing, invoicing, reporting.
  • Continually strive to improve project performance with respect to quality of data and reports, profitability of projects, management of risks and opportunities, transparency and accountability of project performance, achieving deadlines, workplace health and safety.
  • Arrange logistics for field surveys (accommodation and car hire), manage equipment, and data entry.
  • Assist with client and subconsultant contract requirements.

 Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

We are open to different backgrounds, perhaps yours could be as an experienced Project Manager, Project Officer, or you might work in the environmental management field and are looking to move into a Project Management role. You will have:

  • Excellent time management and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal skills and client relationship skills.
  • Experience with budgets and invoicing.
  • Leadership/coaching and mentoring.
  • Excellent understanding of QA
