Porirua City is on the move. With growth and development trending right up, there has never been a better time to be part of the team creating change. If you're a skilled planner looking for a thrilling challenge in a diverse role, it's time we talked.
Shape a changing city
Porirua's changing. Thanks to new housing developments, large scale regeneration projects and new transport links, it's rapidly growing into a diverse, well-connected city with big opportunities.
That's where you come in. We'e rejuvenating our council to prepare for, and shape, the City's future growth. And right now, we've created a new role in our Resource Consents and Monitoring team, for someone with the drive and skill to lead advanced and complex consents and planning activities. Interested?
As the technical lead within the team, you'll work on a range of key projects that span this, and other Council teams.
Porirua has some exciting and large projects in full swing and waiting in the wings for you to be a part of. With Plimmerton Farms recently greenlit, an approved District plan change will see Porirua create new housing to meet rising demands - a huge opportunity for you to work on a mega development project right from the beginning. Plus join us as we continue to progress the Kenepuru Landings new neighbourhood project, which has a good six or seven stages of development to go!
Bring your unique skills
Armed with a broad exposure to complex resource consents and a solid 10 years' plus experience working with the RMA, we know you'll hit the ground running in this exciting role. We're after a top-notch communicator who builds effective relationships easily and is great under pressure. You'll be skilled at providing high level strategic planning advice, and your in-depth experience with the hearing and appeals process will see you excel. You'll join an integrated and connected, hardworking team within the council. As our most senior technical specialist, you'll work on the more complex consents, so if you love a challenge you'll thrive!
Experience the good life at PCC
You might be joining us from another local government body, excited to grow your skills with a step up to a bigger council. Or perhaps this is your opportunity to bring your knowledge and experience to the government sphere, and start influencing real change. Either way, this could be the refresh and restart you've been looking for - life's good here in Porirua. More affordable and accessible than larger cities, it's the perfect balance of bustle and quiet with the big advantage of being right beside the sea and beaches!
So don't wait. Now is truly the time to make the move.
