Position based in Melbourne or Brisbane (remote with Service Delivery Lead)
We are looking for a business development leader who will excel at building new sales pipelines and market opportunities for an innovative technology. You thrive on strong relationships, designing valuable solutions for clients, and winning projects. You will be able to translate sector knowledge and leverage networks in mining and potentially other extractives and energy sectors to drive success in your role.
Whoever you are, if this role description gets you excited, we are equally excited to hear from you!
WHO WOULD YOU BE WORKING WITH
For nearly 7 years we have been EnviroDNA – Australia’s first dedicated commercial provider of environmental DNA (eDNA) services. We are a purpose driven business, which spun out of our sister environmental science company Cesar Australia. As the name suggests, eDNA is at the heart of what we do. We help government, not-for-profit and private organisations detect species and map biodiversity using eDNA methods. Extractives and other energy sectors present an exciting area of growth. From impact assessment and monitoring through to mining restoration, eDNA has game changing value to offer.
We are in the early stages of the company’s growth, busy with market development, product/service development and R&D type activities to bring highly valuable solutions to governments and industry. We are now excited to create this role opportunity and welcome a new person into our team.
ROLE MISSION
Accelerate the adoption of eDNA to extractives/energy sectors and bolster EnviroDNA’s market leading position by driving significant growth in clients and projects.
Role hourly split
Market growth and Business Development efforts – 50%
Project management & delivery – 40%
Admin/other (e.g. general team meetings and general admin) 10%
RESPONSIBILITIES
Market growth
This role will lead (with support from Service Delivery Lead) the development and growth of new eDNA markets including mining and other extractive and energy sectors. Underpinning this market growth will be a focus on understanding the market/client needs, and positioning EnviroDNA offerings to add value e.g. through services/product development and marketing angles and innovation.
Business Development – winning new business
We expect this role to significantly contribute to sales in the business with a focus on securing large and strategic business opportunities. Establishing and building client relationships and sales pipelines with proactive business development effort will be key. Innovative and strategic thinking will also be necessary to help capitalise on opportunities.
Project Management & ongoing client relationships
Along with the growth focus, the role will also require managing client relationships and projects (with a focus on large and strategic opportunities), development of client reports and coordination of other staff to produce quality outcomes that are delivered safely, on-time and within budget, ensuring happy clients.
