We're looking for a Manager Sustainability and Environment to join our Infrastructure and Sustainability leadership team. In this pivotal role, you'll provide strategic leadership across Council's Sustainability and Environment Department, ensuring the delivery of services, programs and initiatives that support a sustainable, resilient, and environmentally responsible future for Latrobe City.
Leading a diverse portfolio that includes Emergency Management, Environment, Landfill Services and Sustainability, you will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team, Councillors, government agencies, community organisations and industry stakeholders to deliver strategic outcomes that benefit our community today and for future generations.
This is a rare opportunity to influence the long-term environmental and sustainability agenda of one of Victoria's largest regional cities while leading experienced teams through a period of growth, innovation, and change.
When you join Latrobe City Council, you'll make a real impact in your community while working in an inclusive, supportive and child safe environment that values your growth and wellbeing. We offer:
Located just two hours east of Melbourne, Latrobe City is Gippsland's regional city, home to more than 79,000 people and offering an outstanding regional lifestyle. From vibrant town centres and growing communities to stunning natural environments, the region provides a unique opportunity to build a rewarding career while enjoying the benefits of regional living.
As a key regional centre undergoing significant transformation, Latrobe City offers the opportunity to contribute to projects and initiatives that will shape the future of the region for generations to come.
You are an accomplished and forward-thinking leader with significant experience managing complex service portfolios, programs, and multidisciplinary teams. You combine strategic vision with a strong focus on implementation, enabling you to deliver meaningful outcomes in a dynamic and evolving environment.
You bring a proven track record of delivering organisational outcomes through strong leadership, sound judgement, stakeholder engagement, and change management. You excel at building high-performing teams, fostering collaborative partnerships and creating a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Most importantly, you are passionate about driving sustainability, environmental stewardship and organisational excellence while helping shape the future of Latrobe City.
Successful applicants will be required to apply for and satisfactorily obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children's Check.
