Lead, Decide, Innovate – Shape Queensland’s Environmental Future and take on a pivotal leadership role in Queensland’s environmental regulation sector. 

Take on a pivotal leadership role in the Minerals Business Centre, part of Environmental Services and Regulation (ESR). As Manager, you’ll play a critical role as the delegated decision-maker for statutory and non-statutory decisions under Queensland legislation. Your expertise will guide decisions related to metal mineral mining and associated activities, including metal smelting, refining, minerals processing, and bulk material handling. This is your opportunity to shape the future of Queensland’s mining sector while driving sustainable environmental outcomes.  

What we’re looking for:  

  • Proven experience in leading operational performance and planning in a regulatory service delivery environment, with a strong track record of managing complex or high-risk decisions. 
  • The ability to inspire and engage teams to deliver environmental management services, programs, and projects to a high standard.  
  • A solid understanding of contemporary environmental and regulatory management trends, drivers, and best practices.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate options and adapt in a dynamic environment.  
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills to resolve complex issues and build productive relationships.
