The role:

Exciting opportunity for a skilled Environmental Assessment & Approvals Principal to lead the delivery of major infrastructure projects in Queensland. The Principal serves as a subject matter expert who will manage client relationships, develop business, oversee projects and provide technical advice as required. This role mentors Consultants who work across a broad range of market sectors, including renewables, mining, infrastructure, and government. This role works with the Planning General Manager to deliver and develop our Queensland strategic plan and lead the industry in environmental assessment, approvals, and environmental planning offering.

  • Provide project teams and clients with specialist technical advice on environmental assessment and approvals in Queensland.
  • Prepare and review environmental and assessment approvals reports.
  • Contribute to complex tenders and proposals.
  • Manage and retain relationships with our clients.
  • Train, coach, and mentor support staff.

 Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Environmental Assessment and Approvals SME with multi-disciplinary knowledge. Ideally, you will have:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Planning Act 2016, Environmental Protection Act 1999, the EPBC Act, and the planning approvals process.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparation of EIA’s, EIS’s, PER’s
  • Experience in delivering approvals for large scale projects in Queensland.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary specialist teams to coordinate inputs.
  • A willingness to work in large scale complex renewable energy projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster and maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders, internal and external to the business.
