The Role

AECOM's Geosciences and Remediation Services group has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Hydrogeologist to join our Melbourne team.

This role will give you the opportunity to work as part of a dedicated team of experienced professionals on a diverse array of high-profile projects throughout metropolitan and regional Victoria. Our client base extends across a range of sectors, including, mining, transport (road/rail/ports/air), water utilities, energy, oil and gas, government (defence), and urban renewal property. Projects include groundwater management, groundwater resource investigations/assessments, conceptual and numerical hydrogeological models, and aquifer evaluations. Your time will be divided between fieldwork and the office.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking varied hydrogeological investigations
  • Conducting site investigations, collating and analysing hydrogeological and groundwater quality data, and performing aquifer assessments
  • Managing field and office tasks, with an emphasis on health and safety
  • Preparation of factual and interpretative hydrogeological reports
  • Developing and maintaining groundwater databases
  • Project management.

About You

Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience (2 to 8 years) in a similar role, preferably in a multi-disciplinary/consulting environment including experience across hydrogeological and environmental projects
  • Outcome and deliverables focused
  • Ability to work within a project-based and team-based environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team-members and clients
  • Field experience in a broad range of investigation techniques
  • Committed to producing quality deliverables
  • Committed to achieving standards in HS&E
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and technical report writing capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • An interest in supporting interstate projects (including field programs) and other internal teams (dams, geotechnical)
  • Tertiary level qualifications in Geology/Environmental Science/Environmental Engineering
  • Postgraduate qualification in hydrogeology or geochemistry – highly regarded
  • Manual (open) driver's licence – essential.
