The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to lead our new Health, Climate and Conservation Branch. Council has recognised the importance of its environmental health and natural environment and elevated their status into a dedicated branch as part of an organisational restructure.
This role will provide strategic direction for the branch and lead the teams that will plan and deliver key outcomes. You will drive initiatives through 2 programs - one that supports environmental health and immunisation services, and the other that supports environmental protection, nature conservation, and carbon reduction.
This high-profile leadership role requires a high-level understanding of strategic environmental planning, environmental project delivery, community environmental partnership initiatives and a passion for community health and well-being. You'll provide expert advice on best industry practice, while developing effective lasting relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. It is essential you have experience analysing, interpreting and implementing legislation and policy. You will be committed to making a positive difference within Council and the community.
The Health, Climate and Conservation Manager reports to the Director of Growth, Economy and Sustainability and is based in the City Administration Centre, Logan Central.
