About VicForests
VicForests is a State-owned business responsible for the sustainable harvest, regrowing and commercial sale of timber from public forests on behalf of the Victorian Government.

The Role
Be part of a team that is passionate about forests, the environment and are skilled professionals.
Our operations Division is currently seeking for a proactive and experienced Forester to join its team based at our Creswick office in this ongoing position.
Reporting to a Senior Forester, this role contributes to the management of planning, scheduling, risk management, roading, harvesting and coupe regeneration operations in line with legislative requirements and business objectives.
In this role you will prepare, implement and monitor a range of plans and programs associated with forest regeneration, including: seed collection, mechanical disturbance, regeneration burning, survey work and coupe handover
You will be part of an industry recognised credible, successful and dynamic native forestry business that provides a sustainable contribution to Victorian industries.

About you:
Appropriate degree or equivalent post graduate qualification in Forestry, Natural Resource Management or a related field, preferably with a commercial forestry focus
Relevant forest management experience
Experience liaising with different contractors
Physical fitness to enable effective completion of field-based work
High level of attention to detail
Initiative and a proactive “can do” attitude
Strong organisation and time management skills
Ability to adopt and progress new technology and systems particularly GIS and MS Office
Capable of working independently without supervision
Current Victorian Drivers Licence with ability to travel
