Erosion & Sediment Control Officer
Are you passionate about achieving positive environmental outcomes through compliance action in a customer focused team?
At Brisbane City Council, the Environmental Management Team within our Compliance and Regulatory Services Branch is focused on areas of environmental significance across the city.
As an Erosion and Sediment Control Officer (ESCO) you will be promoting industry best practice (IECA) for Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) standards within the development and building industry in Brisbane. Working within Council’s Compliance and Regulatory Services Branch, you will be equipped with a variety of skills and experiences to achieve positive environmental outcomes for Brisbane’s waterways. You would also be responsible for investigating compliance under the Environmental Protection Act 1994 and the Planning Act 2016.
This rewarding opportunity will see you applying your strong interpersonal skills to effectively resolve situations with a wide range of stakeholders whilst obtaining positive environmental outcomes. You will have a strong ability to apply and issue relevant enforcement actions. You will work in a supportive team environment, while working autonomously, in a unique regulatory environment.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in interpreting erosion and sediment control plans and applying industry best practice for ESC in the development and building industry in Brisbane.
