A rewarding opportunity exists for an Environmental Data Manager in our Geosciences and Remediation Services workgroup in Melbourne, Victoria, to support our local and national staff and advance AECOM’s digital transformation in management of environmental data.

Reporting to the Workgroup Manager- Geosciences and Remediation Services, you will primarily work in consultation with both the National and local Data Managers and will be responsible for the management of data obtained from a wide range of environmental field programs including contaminated sites.

You will be part of a team that provides data management solutions for our environmental projects with an eye for improving efficiency and accuracy in the data collection, reporting and analysis process. With an uncompromising commitment to health and safety and client service, you will be an experienced Data Manager who will be able to multi-task, contribute to and prepare reports, and assess and manage large and complex data sets independently and as part of a larger team.

About You

As an Environmental Data Manager, you will be engaged, and excited by project delivery and the successful integration of varied specialist and multi-disciplinary stakeholders.

Ideally you will have:

  • Experience with scientific data collection and analysis
  • At least three years’ experience with MS Excel, Access and SQL database Training in data management systems
  • Experience using ESdat and EQuIS
  • Attention to detail and data entry skills to defined Client standards
  • Experience working with project/client specific databases
  • Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve
  • A high-level of task prioritisation capability, through experience with evolving projects
  • Previous experience in data management with a desire for efficiency and quality outcomes
  • Commitment to safety in the workplace
  • An enthusiastic, energetic and hard working attitude
  • An eagerness to learn, be mentored by industry leaders and to share your own knowledge and look for opportunities for innovation.

Desirable capability and experience:

  • Experience with environmental contaminated sites
  • Experience in delivery of technical data leadership in ESdat and/or EQuIS software suites
  • Experience in delivering environmental database systems administration at a major project or national level
  • Experience with Department of Defence environmental data systems
  • Capability in delivering workflow efficiencies through automated data processes
  • Experience with a range of data visualisation tools, including PowerBI and ESdat/EQuIS dashboarding
  • Experience in mobile data capture and data management tools outside of ESdat and EQuIS (e.g. ESRI, GiNT, OpenGround, LeapFrog, Dataverse, Power Automate)
  • Experience in collaboration with global teams
  • Experience in scoping project or Client data requirements for a full data lifecycle (from capture to delivery)
  • Ability to showcase and communicate environmental data success stories
  • Experience preparing training materials

To be eligible you must have Australian citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant Qualifications within the appropriate discipline such as environmental science, environmental planning, town planning and/or environmental engineering.
  • A professional member of a relevant professional body.
