Green Tape Solutions is looking for an ecologist to join their South-East Queensland team. The successful applicant will be working from home independently as well as with others to complete ecological and/or bushfire assessments. You will be required to travel from time to time across Qld and NSW.

We work on small to large scale development projects such as renewable energy and linear infrastructure projects.
Job Description
We are looking for an ecologist who is passionate about the environment to join our team of experts. The successful candidate will
• Conduct flora and fauna surveys
• Prepare proposals and technical reports for clients including Flora and Fauna Impact Assessments, Vegetation Management Plans, Rehabilitation Management Plan, Bushfire Report, etc
• Provide assistance in the development of Biodiversity Development Assessment Reports, Species Impact Statements, EPBC Act referrals and other technical reports.
• Gain experience within all aspects of environmental consulting
• Demonstrate knowledge of Commonwealth and Queensland environmental legislation and approvals
• Create GIS maps
• Participate in project management from inception through to delivery
• Proactively contribute to our team of dedicated professionals
• Operate in a collaborative working environment, regularly working with all members of our team
• Prepare, manage and review deliverable
• Upskill through various training opportunities.
Mandatory Qualification
• Australian Citizenship and driver's licence
• Demonstrate problem solving abilities
• Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Botany, Zoology, Environmental Science.
• 4+ years relevant industry experience in a professional working environment, including state/local government and/or consulting.
• Demonstrated experience in planning and undertaking flora and fauna surveys.
• 4+ years in a similar industry undertaking field work in the area of terrestrial or marine/aquatic ecology.
• Common sense and ability to think on your feet
• Working experience with GIS mapping.
• Ability to communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments.
• Effective written communication and report writing skills.
• Ability to maintain personal effectiveness particularly during periods of higher than normal workload.
Desirable Qualification:
• Demonstrated experience in planning/development application.
• Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook skills;
• Experience and abilities in ArcGIS or QGIS mapping.
• Previous experience working in construction, consulting and government
• C class manual driver's licence
• White card, First Aid, 4WD certificate
• Ability to remain positively motivated and foster team spirit at times of significant pressure, including assisting others to meet deadlines
• Prior experience in bushfire planning and assessment would be considered favourably.
