EcoCommons empowers Australian practitioners and researchers by providing access to trusted datasets, advanced modelling tools, and comprehensive training resources. This ensures high-quality, reproducible, and transparent ecological modelling that informs and accelerates evidence-based policy and decision-making for the environment.
In this introductory webinar, we will introduce the EcoCommons platform, provide an overview of key use case examples, and delve deeper into species distribution models. We will examine how environmental practitioners can utilise the different models to predict species distributions, interpret outputs, validate results, and present findings in reports.
Dr Jenna Wraith | Head of Sustainable Futures & Principal Data Scientist at QCIF
Jenna is a conservation scientist specialising in ecological and species distribution modelling. She leads the Sustainable Futures Department at QCIF, developing national tools such as EcoCommons and WildObs. Her work bridges science and technology to advance digital solutions for biodiversity monitoring and threatened species conservation across Australia.
Abhimanyu Raj Singh | Data Ecologist at QCIF
Abhimanyu is a Data Ecologist whose work blends field ecology data with computational modelling to drive evidence-based conservation. Within QCIF’s Sustainable Futures, he develops reproducible modelling workflows, open ecological data systems, and training resources through EcoCommons Australia, linking science, technology, and community to strengthen biodiversity decision-making across the nation.
