The Victorian Division of EIANZ together with Arup invites you to a tour of the Arup SoundLab. The Arup SoundLab is a unique Virtual Reality environment that allows clients, stakeholders and designers to listen to acoustic designs, and make subjective decisions based on the hearing outcomes, rather than trying to understand challenging acoustic reports that provide results in tables of decibel values. The room incorporates a calibrated 3D ambisonic sound system, which lets people listen to auralisations (virtual acoustic environments) in a hyper-realistic 3-dimensional sound field, at a precisely calibrated sound level and frequency response. The SoundLab allows clients to make natural design decisions in an informed, open and collaborative manner. Drinks and nibbles will be provided.
