Meet the keynote speaker:

Adrian Galasso is a Senior Counsel based in New South Wales with over 25 years of experience in environment and planning law. Adrian has considerable experience advising proponents and regulatory authorities in planning merits appeal, environmental litigation and administrative law proceedings. Adrian has been listed in Doyles Guide's Leading Planning and Environment Barristers - Australia for the past 8 years, including recently listed as Planning and Environmental Lawyer of the Year in 2018 in Best Lawyers latest release.

Adrian has appeared as Counsel in two recent landmark Tasmanian decisions of:

  • Sultan Holdings Pty Ltd v John Fuglsang Developments Pty Ltd [2017] TASFC 14 in the Full Court of the Supreme Court of Tasmania which considered the interpretation of Schedule 2 (Level 2 activities) under the Environmental Management and Pollution Control Act 1994; and
  • Huon Aquaculture Group Limited v Minister for the Environment [2018] FCA 1011 in the Federal Court of Australia in relation to the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999
