SA | Adelaide Desalination Plant Tour

The SA Division of EIANZ invites you to join a tour of the Adelaide Desalination Plant with Tim Kildea, Manager Environment & Heritage Expertise, Major Projects at SA Water.

Tim will lead you on a guided walking tour around the Adelaide Desalination Plant, providing insight into how the plant supports Adelaide’s drinking water security. The Adelaide Desalination Plant at Lonsdale is the state’s largest desalination plant, able to produce 100 gigalitres a year. As metropolitan Adelaide’s only climate-independent source of drinking water, it has been delivering drinking water since 2011. The tour has the most benefit when the site is walked, so please wear comfortable, closed shoes, as this is how we will be getting around.

Participants are to make their own way to the Adelaide Desalination Plant and meet at the Kauwi Interpretive Centre car park near the site at 9:45am. It is anticipated that the tour, followed by lunch on site, will be finished by 12:45pm.

All attendees must wear appropriate clothing and PPE, as follows:
• Closed shoes
• Long pants and sleeves
• Appropriate clothing for inclement weather
• High visibility vest/jacket if you have one, otherwise one can be provided by SA Water
• Hard hat, hearing and eye protecting can be supplied by SA Water on the day if deemed required.

Information regarding meeting points and parking are included in your registration confirmation email, which will be delivered to you after you have registered.
