QLD | Careers in the Environment Evening

Curious about where a career in the environment sector could take you? Not sure what roles are out there, or what it’s really like to work in the environment industry? Join us for the EIANZ QLD Division’s Careers in Environment evening event and hear from experienced environmental professionals working across a range of specialties. They’ll share their career journeys, insights and tips for getting started.

Meet our Panellists
  • Dr Chris McGrath | Chris is an Australian barrister practising in environmental law and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Queensland. His current research focuses on opportunities for strategic climate litigation.
  • Sandra Walters | Sandra is a terrestrial ecologist with 25 years’ experience in fauna and flora survey and natural resource management. Transitioned from Tier 1 consultancy work to starting her own consultancy.
  • Hamish Manzi | Hamish is an experienced leader in environmental and sustainability management with experience from consulting to mining and other industry
  • Mary Timms | Mary is a terrestrial ecologist and environmental manager providing specialist technical advice to Local, State and Commonwealth governments, service providers, not-for-profit community groups and the private sector.
  • Tara MacDougall | Tara is an environmental scientist specialising in contaminated land management, leading complex environmental assessments to evaluate risks to human and ecological health.
  • Pratik Solanki | Pratik is a civil and environmental engineer with several years’ experience in environmental assessment, compliance management, approvals, cultural heritage, project management, team management, technical leadership, and environmental compliance auditing.

After the panel session all delegates are encouraged to stay and network with their peers and panellist. Drinks and pizzas will be provided.
