Interested in a career in environmental impact assessment? Want to better understand what professionals in the field actually do, what pathways exist, and what skills are most valuable for graduates entering the sector?
Join EIANZ NSW Division and the University of Sydney's Geoscience Society for an evening exploring careers in environmental impact assessment. Designed for students and early-career professionals, this event will provide practical insight into the profession through an interactive panel discussion with industry speakers and informal networking afterwards.
Hear from four professionals working in environmental impact assessment across a range of sectors and levels of seniority. Speakers will share their career journeys, discuss the work they do day to day, and reflect on the trends shaping the sector.
Our speakers will represent a range of practice areas, including infrastructure, construction and architecture, with experience ranging from early-career practitioners through to senior impact assessment leaders.
Each speaker will reflect on the knowledge, capabilities and professional skills they see as most important for students and graduates interested in entering the field.
There will be an audience Q&A panel, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions directly to the speakers. The evening will conclude with informal networking and light catering.
This event offers students and early-career professionals the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of environmental impact assessment beyond the classroom. Attendees will hear directly from emerging and established professionals, learn about different career pathways, and build connections within the environmental sector.
Whether you are already interested in impact assessment or are still exploring environmental career options, this event will help you better understand the profession and how to start building your own pathway into it.
