Ecology | Special forum on using eDNA for wildlife detection

The Ecology Special Interest Section of the EIANZ is convening a one-day forum featuring a series of special presentations about an innovative technology and approach that enables the detection of wildlife in Australia and New Zealand using eDNA. The presentations will cover a wide range of aspects including:

  • Accessing the power of eDNA
  • eDNA wildlife detection tests
  • eDNA for biomonitoring and biosecurity
  • Assessing biodiversity through environmental DNA
  • eDNA as a monitoring and surveillance tool
  • eDNA for environmental assessment in NSW
  • eDNA to monitor species in tropical areas
  • Using metabarcoding to assess fish biodiversity
  • Comparing metabarcoding and electrofishing
  • eDNA for marine pest surveillance

Environmental professionals who attend this event can record 1 point per hour of continuing professional development under the Certified Environmental Practitioner Scheme.
