EIANZ's WA Division is pleased to deliver a briefing session on the WA Environmental Protection Authority's (EPA) draft Guideline for Cumulative Impact Assessment (CIA). The session will provide an opportunity to ask questions to WA EPA on the draft guideline developed in response to the 2020 amendments to the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (EP Act).
Join us for this chance to understand the draft guideline, discuss practical implications with peers, and contribute to EIANZ's submission before the internal deadline of Tuesday 4 November 2025.
The draft Guideline for Cumulative Impact Assessment has been developed following consultation in 2024 with the EPA, advisory committees and stakeholders. Key feedback from that process informed revisions such as clearer language, refined definitions and additional resources to support consistent application.
The guideline aims to provide clarity and consistency in CIA conducted as part of environmental impact assessment under Part IV of the EP Act.
EPA would appreciate your consideration of the following key questions when reviewing the Guideline:
This session is specifically created for environmental practitioners, consultants, and professionals involved in the EIA process in WA, particularly those working on cumulative impact assessments.
This targeted consultation provides an important opportunity to help shape a guideline that embodies best practices and delivers effective, robust cumulative impact assessment. Don't miss this chance to contribute your expertise and help influence environmental practice in our state.
We hope to see you there!
