Following consultation with members and with the support of both the Far North Queensland (FNQ) and South East Queensland (SEQ) Division committees, EIANZ is pleased to announce that the two Queensland Divisions have been formally reunited as a single Queensland Division.
To give effect to this change, the Board and Advisory Council have approved an amendment to By-law 5 (5.2.1), removing the reference to two separate Queensland Divisions.
The new Queensland Division is EIANZ's largest, bringing together the full breadth of Queensland's environmental practitioner community under a single, unified structure.
The executive teams remain in place. Former FNQ and SEQ committee members have merged to become the Queensland Division committee, bringing strong networks in both the cities and regions, and a commitment to continuing locally led activity throughout the state. The former FNQ committee will lead the establishment of formal EIANZ branches in the northern region, ensuring members across Queensland remain connected and well served.
The Queensland Division's programme is already underway for 2026:
Members will receive further updates as the Division's branch structure and program develop through 2026.
If you’re interested in contributing to branch activities or shaping future programs, we’d love to hear from you. We encourage members with ideas for events, professional development, policy initiatives, or activities for students and early-career professionals to share your ideas.
