Dr Mark Breitfuss has through his career demonstrated innovation and leadership in the environment profession. Mark is a highly qualified environmental scientist with a special interest in invertebrates. His work on larval mosquito control in saltmarsh and mangrove systems helped ensure that this activity now gives consideration to its impact on Matters of National Environmental Significance under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

In the field of environmental impact assessment and project delivery, Mark has demonstrated his capacity for leadership of small and large teams. He has a proven track record in government liaison, negotiation, and strategy development around project approvals and implementation. His experience spans gas, ports, water, electricity, transport, resources, critical minerals and renewables projects. As a Director of Epic Environmental his technical skills and experience are a foundation for the provision of ethical, sound, and sought-after advice on environmental management practice. Mark’s capacity for leadership in the environment profession is demonstrated by his engagement with academic institutions and their student cohorts. He is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland in the School of Earth and Environmental Studies.
