About the webinar

In this webinar, our presenters Carlo Sirianni and Craig Purcell from our insurance partner Marsh, will examine some actual claim examples made against environmental consultants. The key features of Professional Indemnity insurance will be explored with a focus on the actions that must be undertaken around notifications.

Client expectations of broker activities across communication and advocacy will be highlighted. Case studies will look at claims in PFAS contamination, Environmental Impact Statement, Statutory Compliance Advice and Contamination Surveys. We will also touch on strategies to avoid or reduce the impact of claims which references some key learnings from the previous webinar on the importance of risk management. There will be the option for delegates to ask questions of the presenters at the end of the presentation.

The Zoom webinar will run for one hour, off Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT). This webinar will be recorded and a link to the webinar recording will be made available to all registered attendees in the days after the webinar.

Meet the Speakers

Craig Purcell | Business Development Executive at Marsh
Craig has been working in and with the insurance industry for over 20 years. In his role as Commercial Manager with a leading mining engineering consultancy, Craig was responsible for the management of the insurance programme. This meant yearly insurer presentations into the London insurance market. Through this experience and now working with Marsh, Craig has a unique insight into the importance of a broker as a risk partner to environmental consultancy firms.

Carlo manages a diverse portfolio of professions including environmental consultants, engineers, architects and provides insurance risk solutions and advice to many complex insurance programs that includes financial lines products being professional indemnity and public liability insurance, management liability insurance and cyber risk liability insurance.

Carlo is a Senior Associate member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and has over thirty years insurance broking experience with Marsh Pty Ltd and prior to that Sedgwick Insurance Brokers Pty Ltd.

Carlo has managed the Environment Institue of Australia and New Zealand members' insurance requirements for several years and is a regular host of the Marsh exhibit at the annual EIANZ conference, supporting members with their insurance requirements right throughout the event.
