Before a development project can move forward in WA, one of the first questions to answer is: what tenure are you dealing with? The answer shapes the obligations and approvals pathway of a development project. Our "Land Tenure in WA" webinar is designed to give practitioners a practical starting point.
This webinar is for early career environmental practitioners who need a clearer picture of how land tenure affects project planning and approvals in WA. If you are wanting a more structured framework for understanding land tenure and its constraints, this is a practical place to start.
The webinar will cover:
Each tenure type brings its own set of rights, restrictions, and approval considerations. The webinar explores how each tenure type is defined and what practical implications they carry for practitioners navigating development projects in WA.
Bronwyn is an experienced mining and sustainability manager with more than 20 years experience in the resources sector, predominantly in Western Australia.
Bronwyn is currently the Policy and Regulatory Affairs Manager for Albemarle Lithium where her responsibilities include government relations, environment, climate change, Aboriginal cultural heritage and approvals. Prior to that, in her role as Manager of Resource Development and Sustainability at The Chamber of Minerals and Energy WA, Bronwyn was responsible for representing the interests of the resources sector in policy issues such as climate change, exploration, land access, heritage, environmental approvals and mine closure. She was also the Industry Representative appointed to the WA Government’s Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Reference Group during the 2022-23 reform programme.
Prior to joining CME, Bronwyn spent 15 years working as an environmental professional for various mining operations across Australia in iron ore, diamonds, bauxite and coal. Collectively, this has given her exposure across a range of land related issues, particularly in how different land interests in WA can interact with relevance to mining.
Bronwyn has completed a Master of Business Administration / Master of Science (Mineral and Energy Economics) from Curtin University and a Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental) (Hons) from Griffith University and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
This is a practical, introductory-level session designed for environmental practitioners working across WA's diverse land tenure landscape. The webinar includes a 45-minute presentation followed by a 15-minute Q&A session.
This webinar will run on Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) and will be recorded. A link to the recording will be sent to all registered delegates in the days post the event.
