VIC | Sky Park - One Melbourne Quarter Sustainability Tour

EIANZ in partnership with Arup invite you to sustainability tour of One Melbourne Quarter (MQ) building by Arup. Located in Melbourne’s Docklands and adjacent to the Southern Cross train station, One Melbourne Quarter is the first of seven buildings transforming an underutilised block bisected by an arterial road into a mixed-use complex on the western edge of Melbourne’s Central Business District. Awarded the highest sustainability rating for precincts in Australia through the 6 Star Green Star Communities award, Melbourne Quarter has set new standards for sustainable design.

Arup provided precinct-wide thinking, intelligent use of digital and approach to sustainability and resilience design, delivered complex elements such as the Sky Park while also providing a flexible and modern workplace where employee health and wellbeing is paramount. Their work also set the standard for smart and efficient construction throughout the project- MQ.

The tour will give an overview of a wide range of topics relating to building sustainability, with a particular focus on the lightning, waste, energy and noise. Participants will gain an understanding of the complexities of decision-making in this sector, considerations of important factors and assessment of environmental impacts. Participants will gain a greater understanding of sustainability from a buildings perspective, providing tools to frame their thinking on future projects.
