SA | Standardising on-ground ecological monitoring across Australia

Come and hear from TERN’s Ecosystem Surveillance Operations Manager, Sally O’Neill, about the TERN ecosystem monitoring program that’s been in operation for over 10 years, with 1000 long-term monitoring plots across Australia.

Sally will provide an insight into the program, the samples held at the TERN Australia Soil and Herbarium Collection at the Waite campus, and how these, together with the long-term monitoring data collected, can be used by environmental practitioners. Sally will also chat about how 10 years of learnings are now being transformed into standardised protocols being developed for DCCEEW to standardise ecological monitoring programs for NRM projects across Australia, expectations around regional delivery partners and sub-consultants to use these protocols for DCCEEW NRM-funded investments, and the plans for future applications into other sectors.

After the presentation, attendees will be provided a light lunch and a chance to network with fellow environmental practitioners.
