A useful first draft is not the finish line. The hard professional question is whether the work is accurate, safe to handle and ready for your judgement before it reaches a client, colleague or decision-maker.

Advanced AI Practitioner Level 1 (AP1) is for EIANZ AI Black Belt graduates who want to spend less time starting from scratch, catch confident AI mistakes and build a repeatable way to use AI on professional work they can stand behind.

Across four live online sessions, you will work through one environmental example from start to finish. You will also apply the same method to one permitted recurring task from your own practice, or stay with the supplied case if workplace material cannot safely be used.

What AP1 adds to AI Blackbelt

Black Belt helps you get useful work from AI and create reusable ways of working. AP1 starts at the next professional question: how do you use that work when it must be accurate, safe to handle, repeatable and ready for your judgement?

Whatever version of EIANZ AI Black Belt you completed, AP1 gives you a common route to:

• give AI the environmental sources, standards, terminology and context that matter.
• turn one recurring task into a method you can use again without starting over.
• check claims, citations, units, assumptions, gaps, dates and jurisdiction.
• decide what information may be used and what must stay out of the tool.
• show what AI contributed, what you checked and what a human decided.
• protect professional learning, including junior development and peer or supervisor review.
• test whether the use saves worthwhile time after checking and rewriting are included.

This is the individual professional-practice layer after Black Belt. It is not an introductory AI workshop, an organisation-wide governance programme, a team rollout or an agent-building course.

Who should attend?

AP1 is for graduates of any version of EIANZ AI Black Belt who want to apply AI more consistently in their own professional practice. No coding or agent building is required.

What you will leave with

You will build first working versions of:

• a reusable environmental brief that gives AI the sources, standards, terminology and context that matter.
• a step-by-step method for one recurring professional task, with clear points for human review.
• a checking record showing what you verified, corrected, rejected or left to human judgement.
• your own rules for responsible AI use, including information boundaries and practitioner sign-off.
• a 90-day plan to test whether the approach saves worthwhile time after checking and rewriting are included.

These are working drafts for you to apply and improve within your employer's policies, quality systems and professional obligations.

The four sessions

Session 1 | Stop re-explaining the work

• Identify the environmental sources, standards, terms, jurisdiction and professional limits that matter.
• Decide what information is public, synthetic, de-identified, confidential, personal or otherwise protected before using an AI tool.
• Build a reusable environmental brief so you do not have to start from a blank page each time.

Session 2 | Make one recurring job worth reusing

• Choose one permitted recurring task, or continue with the supplied case.
• Map the inputs, steps, checkpoints, and stop rules, using professional judgement with the practitioner.
• Record your current time spent doing, checking and rewriting the work so you have a real comparison.

Session 3 | Catch confident mistakes

• Check a flawed AI-assisted environmental draft for problems that can survive a quick read: unsupported claims, unreliable citations, incorrect units, dates, assumptions and gaps.
• Build a checking method you can use again, recording what AI contributed and what still needs human judgement.

Session 4 | Decide what stays human-owned

• Set your information boundaries, checking expectations and human approval points.
• Decide where independent thinking, junior development and peer or supervisor review must remain visible.
• Compare total time and work quality with your starting point, then set a 90-day plan to keep, change or stop the use.

Practical work, with a supplied environmental case

One synthetic environmental case runs through all four sessions. It includes missing evidence, source and jurisdiction problems, and a flawed AI-assisted draft to check and improve.

You can complete the program without entering confidential client or employer information into an AI tool. If you use a task from your own practice, you remain responsible for following employer, client and tool requirements.

Platform and experience

You may use Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, provided the tool is approved for your work. The professional method is shared; screens and features differ between platforms.

Prerequisite: completion of EIANZ AI Black Belt training.
