Tahu Mackenzie is an educator at Orokonui Ecosanctuary. Orokonui Ecosanctuary – Te Korowai o Mihiwaka is a community-led, not-for-profit conservation project in the Orokonui Valley between Waitati and Pūrākaunui, New Zealand. Consisting of 307 hectares of Coastal Otago forest, with a 9 km predator fence that keeps it free of introduced mammalian predators allowing native wildlife to thrive. Pests have been removed, habitat enhanced with weed control and planting, and many rare and endangered species re-introduced. Tahu Mackenzie is the 2020 Otago Person of the Year and Educator of the Year (Otago Hall of Fame awards). You are also welcome to join us for a post-event Networking session.
