NSW | Inside the Role: ER Practitioners on Independence, Interpretation and Compliance

Ever wondered what an Environmental Representatives (ER) really does? EIANZ NSW Division’s Post-approval Environmental Management subcommittee invites you to hear about it from DPHI-approved ERs.

The ER role is central to compliance on NSW projects. Yet many practitioners and project teams only see it from the outside. This session puts you in the room with the people who do the job.

Topics will include:

  • ‘A typical day’ in the life of an ER
  • How you build effective relationships with the proponent, contractor and DPHI
  • What does it mean to be ‘independent’ and how do you maintain this throughout the Project
  • Common challenges, including role boundaries, managing expectations, and resolving conflicts
  • Lessons learned and practical advice for project teams working with an ER

Our ER panellists will each give a short presentation of 10 to 15 minutes each. A facilitated panel discussion and audience Q&A follows. Bring your questions. Drinks and nibbles kindly provided by our host, Gamuda. Stay on after to chat with the panellists and other attendees.
