REGISTER HERE FOR THE CULTURAL EXPERIENCE - TOUR ONLY
Join us along with Aboriginal guides from Koori Kinnections for a two-hour cultural and environmental experience along the Gadyan Track at Berry Island, Wollstonecraft on Saturday 17 October from 1 pm to 3 pm. Discover ancient stories hidden in plain sight on Sydney Harbour and experience the beauty of the native sclerophyll bushland and woodland areas in this place.
Over two hours, you will explore Aboriginal culture, history and sustainability, and connect with the stories, landscapes and living culture of this place.
The cost is $59 per person. EIANZ members and non-members, their families and friends are all welcome. The same price applies to every participant, including children, as the supplier charges EIANZ a flat per-person rate.
Please note the optional bush tucker afternoon tea (additional $15 per person) is not included at this price.
Note that the tour requires a moderate level of fitness. It includes around 750 m of uneven walking track and some hills. Attendees should be able to walk comfortably for more than an hour.
Meeting point: meet at the entrance to Berry Island Reserve, at the end of Shirley Road, Wollstonecraft. Please arrive by 12.45 pm so we can start on time at 1pm.
Getting there: street parking is available on Shirley Road. By train, Wollstonecraft Station is a short trip from Wynyard, and Berry Island Reserve is a 10 to 15 minute walk from the station.
What to bring: comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, a water bottle and insect repellent.
Weather: if the weather prevents the event from going ahead, we will notify all registered attendees in advance and aim to reschedule to a later date.
