Event Recording and Presentations | WA Biodiversity Offsets Forum

We're pleased to announce that the recording and presentations for the WA Biodiversity Offsets Forum, held on 25 November 2025, are now available for purchase.

About the Forum

EIANZ, supported by the WA Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER), presented a forum addressing the complexities and challenges of WA's current biodiversity offsetting framework. This event brought together practitioners, policymakers, and stakeholders to critically review the existing framework and transform offsetting in WA into a genuine conservation tool that delivers meaningful environmental gains. It also harnessed the collective expertise of WA's community of practitioners to make firm policy reform recommendations to the WA Government.

What Was Covered

The forum included four sessions:

  • Session 1: Independent review of current policy framework; and Presentation from DWER;
  • Session 2: Panel discussion with diverse sectoral perspectives;
  • Session 3: Lessons from other offsetting regimes;
  • Session 4: Workshop a revised governance structure for offsetting in WA.
