AIEA member | Environmental Accounting - An Introduction to Environmental Data Assurance

Environmental accounting is not a new field, but its importance has increased substantially over the past couple of years as more people and businesses seek out assurance around environmental data and legitimacy. In this introductory Webinar, our panel of experts in Environmental Accounting will provide an overview of this field, what it is and what it is not. This session will also introduce EIANZ members to the newest Special Interest Section that has been established to promote and share knowledge in this discipline.

Meet the Speakers:

Christopher Wilson MEIANZ, MEM, BA, RGEA | Director – Sustainability Advisory Services, Pangolin Associates

Chris is a developer and provider of a suite of carbon and energy advisory services. He constructs and maintains frameworks and management systems that deliver effective environmental outcomes and efficiency gains and has over 15 years’ experience in the sector. His more recent work focusses on developing strategic plans, assessing climate risks and setting science-based targets (SBT) for clients who are looking to show leadership on climate change.

Chris is a full member of the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (MEIANZ, has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management from the University of New South Wales (MEM), and a Bachelor’s Degree in The History & Philosophy of Science from Griffith University (BA).

He is a Registered Greenhouse and Energy Auditor (Category 1) under section 75A of the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007 through the Australian Government’s Clean Energy Regulator (RGEA) and is a Registered Consultant across all certifications under the Climate Active Carbon Neutral program. He is the interim Chair of the Environmental Accounting Special Interest Section (SIS) of the EIANZ and is a member of the Standards Australia committee on greenhouse gas measurement and accounting. He is certified as a lead auditor for ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.

Dylan Marks | Greenbase Environmental Accountants

As one of the founding members of Greenbase Environmental Accountants, Dylan has 17 years practical experience in Environmental Accounting for the Mining, Materials Processing and Electricity sectors. His experience includes developing and refining the Environmental Accounting model and theoretical foundation used at Greenbase, as well as key components of the proprietary software still used to this day.

Chris McLoughlin | Managing Director of Greenbase

Chris has been the Managing Director of Greenbase since 2014 previously spent 30 years in senior management positions in the IT industry helping numerous companies’ digitalization efforts in Industry 3. Chris is a SASB FSA Level II Candidate and has been tracking the evolution of ESG phenomenon for the last 5 years.

Greenbase provides Environmental and Sustainability Accounting services and systems for over 60 mining companies and more than 200 mines, across all commodities across 5 continents.

This webinar will run on Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT). This webinar will be recorded and a link to the recording will be sent to all registered attendees after the webinar.
