The NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment launched the Registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner (REAP) Scheme on Thursday 1 July. From July 2022, all Environmental Impact Statements for State significant projects in New South Wales will need to be certified by a REAP before submission to the Department.

We are happy to confirm that the Institute’s Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP) Scheme has been accredited by the NSW Government to certify suitably qualified and experienced practitioners as REAPs. This involves certifying practitioners through the CEnvP Scheme with a special REAP module added to CEnvP’s Impact Assessment specialist certification.
