Melanie brings to the role her strong management skills and broad knowledge and experience in the Environment sector. She has worked for energy companies in oil and gas and offshore wind sectors and currently leads the Melbourne team at RPS, an environmental consultancy, in supporting offshore wind and coastal infrastructure development with environmental monitoring and approvals. She has expertise in wastewater and waste management projects and is well acquainted with legislation, risk and impact assessment frameworks, and international standards (such as the IFC Guidelines) having been responsible for regulatory advocacy and engagement through her work. She is an exemplary leader, with a strong sense of ethics and responsibility.
Outside work, Melanie brings with her long-standing volunteer experience as Treasurer of Springsure Hill Landcare Group, she has served on representative bodies to local council and has represented Engineers Without Borders as President and on the committee of local groups and on international assignments. She is excited to aid EIANZ in achieving its aims, to contribute to contribute to meetings, projects, and actions set by the Board and EIANZ’s volunteers, and to be actively involved with and promote local activities, strategy and governance from her home base in West Gippsland.
