Epic’s Ecology Team is currently well-established in Queensland and is respected in the industry with a diverse range of national clients and projects. The role will comprise a dynamic range of ecological and environmental professional service tasks.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
To be considered for this position, you will need to possess the following skills/experience, or an interest in developing these skills:
Tertiary qualifications from a recognised institution in Environmental Science or Natural Resource Management, with a special interest in Ecology and/or Botany
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience in relevant environmental reporting
Excellent field skills and experience conducting vegetation surveys in a broad range of environments in Queensland, including Regional Ecosystem mapping, Biocondition surveys and targeted threatened flora surveys
Work independently, or with other ecologists and environmental professionals, in the planning, delivery and management of ecology surveys; analysis, evaluation and reporting of results; impact assessments, and the design and implementation of successful mitigation strategies
Assist with managing the technical and financial performance of ecological and Environmental Impact Assessment projects.
Ecological Impact Assessment and offsetting for a range of projects under Local Government, State and Commonwealth legislation
Support internal clients with delivering ecological requirements for multi-disciplinary tenders and projects
Experience in the preparation of management plans such as Vegetation Management Plans, Rehabilitation Management Plans and Offset Management Plans
Experience with GIS desktop and data collection packages such as ESRI ArcGIS and/or QGIS
Demonstrated team player and able to self-motivate and take ownership of and be accountable for delivery of environmental tasks and projects
Exposure to proposal writing and developing innovative approaches to solving client problems
Previous consulting experience will be well regarded
Current driver’s license
Ability and willingness to travel and conduct ecological field surveys in remote locations
Excellent client relationship skills and an ability to undertake business development and grow opportunities for Epic.
