Principal and Senior (Terrestrial) Ecologist Positions
About the Roles
Work with our team of experienced ecologists, scientists, planners, engineers and GIS specialists on impact assessment projects throughout Queensland
Scope field surveys, conduct desktop assessments, interpret field data, review and prepare technical reports
Prepare EPBC referrals and permit applications
Provide specialist and practical advice to our team and clients
Undertake significant impact assessment tests on Matters of National Environmental Significance
Liaise with regulators and statutory authorities
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
A genuine love for working outdoors, a positive attitude and a good sense of humour
Degree level qualifications in Ecology, Botany, Zoology, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science or related field
Over ten years related experience conducting terrestrial flora and fauna surveys and flora identification
Comprehensive knowledge of local, State and Commonwealth legislation relating to the environment in Qld, particularly the Environmental Protection Act 1994, Vegetation Management Act 1999, Nature Conservation Act 1992, and Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth)
Exceptional written and communication skills
Demonstrated problem solving abilities
Experience in planning and leading projects to deliver on time and within budget
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
A dedication to working safely and seeking smarter ways of doing things
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft suite of programs and capturing of spatial data
“C” class driver licence (manual)

Desirable
Previous consulting, regulatory, Dept of Main Roads, Defence, industrial or mine site experience
White card, 1st Aid, 4WD certificates
Confidence and experience managing teams and project budgets
