Dr Stuart Winchester is a recognised expert in the field of mine closure planning and rehabilitation, and in particular, site assessment, design, and execution of strategic remediation on sulfidic legacy sites to realise longterm, sustainable outcomes for all key stakeholders. Stuart’s undergraduate and three postgraduate technical and business degrees, when coupled with his significant domestic and international experience, make him uniquely placed to assist government and private clients in the niche discipline of sulfidic mine closure and rehabilitation.

His experience spans over 25 years in all states and territories of Australia, in addition to undertaking projects in Laos PDR, China, Singapore, New Zealand, Chile, Guinea, Indonesia, Senegal and The Philippines. Stuart’s selfless investment in the environment profession has seen him volunteer his time across multiple professional, research and educational initiatives over three decades to advance the earth and environmental science knowledge base, and mentor the next generation, all while remaining an ethical leader in the industry.
