David Wiltshire is one of South Australia’s most experienced environmental scientists, having worked as an environmental consultant throughout Australia and overseas for approximately 35 years. He has been a Director of one of Adelaide’s first environmental consulting firms, Social and Ecological Assessment Pty Ltd, for 30 years, and has undertaken a diverse range of consulting assignments throughout Australia and overseas, specialising in environmental impact assessment, environmental management and applied ecology.
A significant proportion of David’s experience has been associated with the management of marine systems. He is recognised as one of South Australia’s leading marine ecologists, having developed considerable expertise in assessing the marine ecological effects of industrial and urban developments and in monitoring the impacts of industrial and urban discharges to the sea. A particular area of expertise has been seagrass dieback associated with urban and industrial nutrient discharges, and recovery in response to improved water quality. David was a co-editor of the book The Natural History of Spencer Gulf, published by the Royal Society of South Australia
We acknowledge and value the rights and interests of Indigenous Peoples in the protection and management of environmental values through their involvement in decisions and processes, and the application of traditional Indigenous knowledge.
