WA 2024 Division Mentoring Program | Mentor registration

Last chance to register as a MENTOR

EIANZ WA Division's 2024 Mentoring Program aims to connect experienced environment professionals with early career mentees seeking to further their professional development.

Professional mentoring is a powerful tool for environmental professionals at any stage of their career. For experienced professionals, being a mentor improves leaderships skills and instils confidence in their leadership ability. The responsibility of helping guide someone’s career and goals requires the mentor to teach, motivate and offer honest feedback in difficult conversations.

There is no charge for mentors to be part of this program.

Benefits of professional mentoring

As a mentor, you can:

  • Build confidence in your leadership skills
  • Support the next generation of practitioners
  • Work towards your CPD hours and points
  • Transfer your skills and knowledge
  • Reflect on your own practice and re-energise your career objectives

Who can participate?

The following eligibility criteria is proposed to ensure that the purpose and objectives of the mentoring program are more likely to be met:

Mentors will have excellent communication skills, particularly listening, a desire to contribute to the future of the planning profession and the time to commit to several 1 hour meetings for the duration of the program.
  • Mentees should have at least 2 years of working experience in private and/or public practice.

Registration is a 2-part process.

  1. Register as a mentor via the blue registration box below; and

  2. Complete the mentor pairing survey here →

You need to complete both parts of the registration process on or before Wednesday 20 March 2024 to be considered for this program.

What happens next?

Eligible mentees will be invited to the speed pairing event via Zoom. The results of the pairing survey and the speed pairing event will help us match you with a suitable mentor / mentee.

You will be notified of your mentor/mentee pairing by the end of March 2024.

If you are not successfully paired, mentees who paid a participation fee will receive a refund.
