It is anticipated that specialist sessional appointments to the Planning and Environment List will be required within the next 12 months.

VCAT non-judicial members are appointed for a period of seven years by the Governor in Council on the recommendation of the Attorney-General.

Terms and conditions of VCAT members are determined by the Governor in Council and are currently found in an Order dated 21 October 2014

Applicants with significant expertise in the following areas are encouraged to apply:

  • Environmental Science
  • Water Management
  • Engineering
  • Architecture
  • Urban Design

Applicants should be of senior standing and have significant experience within their chosen profession.

Expressions of interest are sought from people who have demonstrated a high level of integrity, sound judgement, and communication and interpersonal skills.

Potential applicants are also encouraged to consider the Member Competency Framework available on VCAT’s website.

All expressions of interest are treated confidentially and may be drawn upon on an ongoing basis as vacancies arise.
